“Last Sunday’s result at Aston Villa gave us the three much-needed and deserved points,” he says.
“I felt we could have scored a couple more goals in the first half and really been out of sight, but it was a really important win after the international break to prepare for the next set of games.
“Both goals were excellent, played from back to front with all parties involved and really good play, culminating in Taylor getting two wonderful finishes. It was really nice to see us score two such nice team goals
.
«A special mention also to Rachael Laws, who got the team moving for the first goal. Lawsy is great with his feet. The tempo change with that pass was excellent and she is a phenomenal baseball player. Having someone like that who can dictate the game and set the pace is a great asset
for us.
«He made two important saves in the second half, one with his feet and then also a diving save from Miri Taylor. She understands the game very well and I was happy for Lawsy because sometimes people are very quick to understand a mistake, especially with a goalkeeper, who is a
such a difficult position.
«She was excellent and helped us get the three points.
«I was also happy for Hannah Silcock, who intervened and helped us watch the match. She’s a technically gifted player and I think she can fill that role very easily and she did a great job after she came in.
.
«It’s not an easy scenario to enter, especially as a young player, so doing as well as she did is a testament to her. She’s a quality player and I’m happy Hannah was able to step up and contribute to the win
