VILLORBASunday 24 Novemberthe Catena di Villorba Municipal Gym will host an event that goes far beyond simple sport: the National Inclusive Judo Championship. Organized byASD Judo Opitergium of the Maestro Alan Semenzin4th Dan, the event will be held under the patronage of Municipality of Villorba and the support of prestigious bodies such as the Ministry for Sport and Youthil Italian Paralympic Committee, INAIL and the Veneto Region. This event represents an important opportunity for collective growth and a celebration ofsocial inclusion through sport, with free ticket for the public.

An opportunity for everyone: Judo as a tool for inclusion

Il Inclusive Judoin line with the philosophy of Special Olympicsbreaks down barriers and promotes comparison between able-bodied and disabled athletes. Founded on the principles of respect, mutual help e personal growthInclusive Judo aims to create an environment in which everyone, regardless of their abilities, can express theirs potential and feeling part of a community. This event will not only be a competition, but also a day of training e exchangewhich includes activities for teachers, coaches and athletes.

The program of the day

The day will begin from 9 to 11 with Judo competitions, divided into two phases: from 9 to 10 will be held i national gamesWhile from 10 to 11 will take place on “Libertas” National Inclusive Judo Championship. At the end of the races, the awards and a shared lunch for all participants.

During the day, they will also take place training moments per Judo teachers and technicianswith practical and theoretical activities, e entertainment areas for athletes.

Conferences and workshops

In the afternoon, all 2 p.mthere will be a conference with the Dr. Nicole Maussierexpert in sports inclusionand the Dr. Fabio La Malfaauthor of texts on Inclusive Judowho will share their experience on the importance of inclusion in sport.

All 4 p.ma workshop about how manage crisis situations during sporting activity, conducted by Dr. Emanuela Fornasierpsychologist, and from Maestro Vittorio Casellato.

The support of local institutions

Il Mayor of Villorba, Francesco Soligounderlined the importance of events that promote inclusion through sport: “There cannot be sport without inclusion, which is why as an administration we give our firm support to all events that go in this direction.”

Il Maestro Alan Semenzin said: “Judo is not just a sport, but a journey of personal transformation. Putting athletes with different backgrounds on the same tatami allows us to overcome prejudices and grow together, in the spirit of ‘mutual benefit’ that characterizes this martial art.”

Even thesports councilor, Egidio Barbonreiterated the importance of initiatives like this: “We strongly support initiatives like this because sport must be a right for everyone, and we want every association in our territory to contribute to creating a sporting offer that leaves no one behind.”
