DBelow is the press release from the Administration with the statements of the Mayor Raimondo Cacciotto and the Councilors Daga and Marinaro.
The Municipality of Alghero fills the Region with funding for sports facilities. Participation in the public notice of regional law 17/2023 was rewarded with a total of resources equal to 1,100,000.00. “The commitment made by the offices, the council and the majority has been rewarded. Our program is taking shape – says Mayor Raimondo Cacciotto – and after the establishment of the Sports Office, the results are now arriving which make us look to the future with optimism. With the same determination – he adds – we are tackling the many critical issues that are still present, and for this reason we are working to find the necessary resources”. 500,000.00 euros will go to finance the project for the redevelopment and regeneration of the sports field in the Carmine district, with the creation of the synthetic grass surface and energy efficiency. 300 thousand euros were financed for the redevelopment of the Maria Pia Tennis Club facility, to implement the modernization and adaptation project of the facility, including the general adaptation to fire prevention regulations. In particular, the intervention must take into account the rules relating to the removal of architectural barriers, energy containment, and the rules relating to public safety. And finally, 300 thousand euros for the redevelopment, modernization and safety of the Maria Pia baseball facility. The sports facility must comply with the technical standards of the Federation, also taking into consideration the sporting results obtained by the company managing the field. The interventions to be carried out will mainly be aimed at redefining the area of the playing field, demolition and construction of two new dugouts (benches) outside the playing field and, furthermore, the construction of two changing rooms. “We have acquired a very important financial allocation which allows us to make an initial turning point in the regeneration of sports facilities in Alghero – commented Enrico Daga, Councilor for Sports Facilities with satisfaction – and on this step we want to continue to make efforts to improve further. But we must thank the offices for working tirelessly to achieve this precious result.” To the resources financed by the Department of Cultural Heritage and Sports of the Region, the co-financing quotas of 325 thousand euros are added, for a total impact of almost one and a half million euros. The joint work with the Department of Public Works led by Councilor Francesco Marinaro is rewarded. “This Administration is increasingly characterized by its attention towards sport, as there is a need to fill an infrastructural gap – he specifies – and this first step satisfies us, but above all it allows us to adapt the structures to the needs of societies that in recent years they have reached the highest national levels”.
