Raúl Jiménez continues to show his quality in the Premier League, now defending the colors of Fulham. Although the team is not in the first places, the Mexican striker has maintained his level and has been noted with goals, adding 51 goals in the English league to date, of which 40 were with Wolverhampton and 11 with his current team .
Currently, Javier “Chicharito” Hernández holds the title of top Mexican scorer in the Premier League, with a total of 53 goals, distributed among 37 with Manchester United and 16 with West Ham. However, Jiménez is just two goals away from equaling that mark and, in a recent interview for TUDN, he expressed his desire to surpass that record.
“It would be a great honor to break Chicharito’s record”
In his statements, Jiménez made it clear what it would mean for him to become the top Mexican scorer in the Premier League: “It would be a great pride for me to break Chicharito’s mark. I hope to do it soon and help the team climb positions. “Being the player with the most goals in the Premier League would be the fruit of all the work of these years in England.”
Jiménez also reflected on his career and the effort it has required to stay in such a competitive league. “Being here is not easy at all, it has been a lot of daily work, coming from a young age leaving the family and adapting to living alone. At first I didn’t have the continuity I would have liked, but I never gave up. I have always sought to advance, with offers from other sides, but I have been clear about what my priorities and objectives are,” shared the forward.
A special dedication to his family and Andrés Guardado
The forward took the opportunity to highlight the importance of his family in every step of his career. “Enjoy every moment, every second both with my family and personally… My wife asked me to celebrate a goal for her; I had been celebrating for my children, but this time it was for her, who is always supporting me. It was also for Andrés Guardado, in his farewell match,” Jiménez added.
