Strengthening Judo skills: Beninese coaches equipped

In line with its dynamic of raising the level of Beninese sport, the Ministry of Sports offered skills-building training in Judo to Beninese coaches. In close collaboration with the Beninese Judo Federation, this initiative, which is part of the government’s efforts to strengthen the technical and educational skills of Beninese coaches, took place from October 30 to November 6, 2024, in Abomey-Calavi.

There are 31 trainees from all over the country participating in this intensive training led by two world-class experts. This capacity building, which marks a key stage in the development of judo at the national level, is led by experts Slavisa Bradic, originally from Croatia, and Franck Moussima from Canada. The latter are assisted by two national trainers, Olafa Eric Adébayo and Jocoue Wilfrid Come Kuawo, providing a local perspective and support adapted to the realities on the ground. Note that the fundamentals of Judo technique were dissected during this seminar. Indeed, it is under the theme of the fundamental techniques “Nage Waza” and “Katame Waza”, that the session is animated. Remember that the program aims to equip coaches with modern techniques and advanced methodologies, with a view to improving the performance of Beninese athletes.
