Double round. A weekend full of emotion, tension and adrenaline lies behind the BC St. Pölten.
ST. PÖLTEN The first team from BC St. Pölten played at home against BC Smash Graz. The first men’s doubles were won confidently by Manuel Kristler and Stefan Ratheyser and the women’s singles by Kateryna Zaitseva. Unfortunately, in the fifth set, the second men’s doubles as well as the men’s singles had to be handed over to the Styrian guests. BC Smash Graz also won the women’s doubles. This round went to the Graz team with a score of 6:2, who lived up to their role as favorites. Nevertheless, BC St. Pölten was able to come out of this encounter on a positive note, as the games once again clearly showed that the St. Pölten team, as newcomers, are doing well in the 2nd Bundesliga and with a bit of ball luck on their side, a draw if not even a victory.
Full of energy
With full energy and big goals, BC St. Pölten started the encounter with the favorites VRC Badminton, their direct neighbors in the table, in Vienna on Sunday, November 10th, 2024. But from the start, the St. Pölten team couldn’t find their way into the game and, apart from clearly winning the women’s doubles, they couldn’t win a game. The Viennese ultimately prevailed with a clear 7:1.
However, team captain Manuel Kristler knows that “these setbacks have in no way diminished the motivation of our players to continue to attack and give their all. We are hungry for more exciting games and ready to go full throttle again!”.
There will be an opportunity to do this at the next home game, on December 21, 2024 in the Prandtauerhalle, when BC St. Pölten will be at home against Smash Graz for more points in the 2nd Bundesliga. The St. Pölten team want to attack with full force again and give themselves their first pre-Christmas present with great games and a successful encounter.
