It was a memorable day for the Yama Arashi Judo Savonawho dominated the Italian Overall and Under 18 Sumo Championships on November 24th in Millesimo, bringing home extraordinary loot: 19 individual medals and the title of best company. A success also made possible by the collaboration with the Chiavari team, the Tigullio bearswhich contributed to achieving the highest result ever achieved in sumo by the Savona team.
Among young people Under 18 four new national champions stand out: Greta Petrilloathlete from Valbormide with international experience, Francesca Di Dio, Niccolò Pasini and Mattia Bolognese.. The youth medal table is completed by the silver medals of Sara Montaldo e Tommaso Pratoin addition to the bronze of Edoardo Fanni.
In the senior category, gold medals for Arianna Vettoripermanent member of the national team, Giulia Meinardi and Francesca Di Dio.
Silver for Luis Castro, Niccolo Pasini, Diego Pallavicini, Elisa Perreira e Greta Petrillowhile the bronzes went to Sara Montaldo, Edoardo Fanni e Tommaso Prato.
Already team champions in 2023, the Yama Arashi women confirmed their superiority by achieving first and second place in the team competition, thanks to two distinct teams. The men also did well, winning the second and third placestopped only by the very strong one Affori Sports Center in Milan.
In the general ranking by club, Yama Arashi triumphed, reaffirming its role as a point of reference in national sumo. Great satisfaction from the President Monica Albanowho commented enthusiastically:
“I am proud of a fantastic and efficient team. Special thanks to Vice President Massimo Petrillo, who with his timely intervention was able to best manage some organizational critical issues, ensuring a smooth and pleasant race for everyone.”
