Two former protégés surprised the judo trainer duo Christoph Legler and Aendy Braasch. Afterwards, various HFC talents shone at the Robben Cup in Norden.

Heidmühle – Big surprise for the two judo trainers Christoph Legler and Aendy Braasch from Heidmühler FC: Richard and Simon Roske, who were both trained as children by Braasch and Legler, first at MTV Jever and later at HFC, visited and took part in the training part.
Richard Roske lives in Ireland and fights very successfully at national level, while Simon trained for a long time at the “Judo Crocodiles Osnabrück” performance center. Both were able to incorporate a lot of competition-related expertise into HFC training.

The background to the visit was a newspaper article about Legler’s 1st Dan exam, which had appeared in the summer and brought the brothers’ attention to their ex-coach through their mother. An emotional moment for Legler: “It gives you an incredible amount in return when young people remember you after such a long time and the experiences they had were so positive that they even come to visit.”
The Roskes’ visit may also have given the Heidmühle judoka a boost in motivation. They recently achieved strong results at the Seal Cup in Norden. The fight took place in close-weight groups of usually four participants. On Saturday, Malte Dudenhausen (age group U 9) and Thies Legler (U 13) each fought for second place. On Sunday, Thore Legler (U 11) came third, while Rieke Hudaff and Hanna Weigert each took second place in spectacular battles.
Now everyone is looking forward to November 23rd with high motivation. On Saturday the big Watt’n Cup of the Heidmühler FC judo department will take place in the Beethovenhalle in Schortens. This time too, over 120 participants from the entire Weser-Ems judo district are expected.
