Swiss NBA rookie Kyshawn George enchants the best basketball league

George, who plays for the Washington Wizards, is only the third Swiss in the world’s best basketball league. And became the first rookie to score 20 points this NBA season. Will he soon be the highest paid Swiss team athlete?

The New York Knicks selected Kyshawn George (pictured with NBA commissioner Adam Silver) 24th in the NBA draft at the end of June – and immediately transferred him to the Washington Wizards.

Three-point shots are one of Kyshawn George’s strengths – his opponents in the NBA have known that since this week at the latest.

For now, George wants to concentrate entirely on the NBA. His father and mother took a sabbatical and moved with him to Washington. He also receives support from former defensive specialist Sefolosha, who has already visited him and given him tips.

If the slender George wants to assert himself in the long term, he must above all work on his physique. The NBA is the perfect league for this. Because the regular season only lasts six months, George can use the rest of the time to make his body more resilient.

The four-year contract with the Washington Wizards guarantees him around $6 million. If George continues to develop as quickly as he has so far, he will soon sign a contract extension – and one day perhaps even replace Capela as the highest-paid Swiss team athlete. He has already earned $130 million in his career. Hard work pays off. For NBA players, anyway.
