A rather unexpected presence. The Olympic judo champion Teddy Riner and his partner Luthna Plocus will host the French version of the reality TV show Love is Blind, scheduled for 2025, Netflix announced Thursday, November 21.

Launched in 2020 on the streaming platform in the United States, during confinement and the Covid-19 pandemic, Love is Blind brings together several singles looking for love.

But unlike a classic reality show, the participants are isolated and only speak to each other through a wall, without ever seeing each other. It is only after a marriage proposal that the couple discovers each other physically. The two lovebirds then spend several weeks together and meet each other’s loved ones before celebrating their wedding or separating.

A real success in the United States, Love is Blind is currently in its seventh season. The show has also been broadcast in many countries such as Japan, Mexico, Germany, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Argentina and the United Arab Emirates.

In France, the first season of the program will be produced by ITV Studios (The Voice, Love Island France) and will be released on Netflix in 2025. According to the newspaper The Parisianfilming has already started in Sweden and Morocco.
