Journalist
After trying different sports, Thibault turned to a career as an amateur footballer. When making a choice between becoming a professional footballer and a journalist, the qualities tipped the scales to one side. Here he is now in the editorial team of 10 Sport, after a diploma obtained at the International Institute of Communication in Paris.
The last match of Rafael Nadal’s career will therefore remain a defeat in the David Cup against Botic van de Zandschulp. Spain having been eliminated by the Netherlands, the Iberian legend has finally hung up his racket. Now retired, the question is what Nadal will do for his future. While Andy Murray has become Novak Djokovic’s coach, such a career should only be that of the newly retired.
Over the past few days, a big announcement has shaken the tennis world. Indeed, it was revealed that Novak Djokovic had as new coach a certain Andy Murray. Obviously, this made more than one person react and some then imagined the path taken by the Scot to also be taken by other now retired tennis legends. All eyes then turned to Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, just retired. However, the Spaniard is not expected to be a coach in the future.

Real Madrid rather than a future as a coach?
Pour Eurosport, Alex Corretja spoke out about a future as a coach for Rafael Nadal. Not believing it, he then confided: “ In my opinion, it is impossible. 99.9% impossible, because you can’t say totally impossible in life. But I would be very, very surprised. I think he’s going to need time to realize what he really wants to do. I feel like even though he has 4 kids and is busy at home, Andy has less to do on a daily basis. Rafa lives in Manacor and he has his academy. So I don’t see him moving much. Maybe Andy still wanted to travel, to have this experience. I don’t really see Rafa as a coach or a consultant to anyone. I would see him more as a consultant for something big like Real Madrid, bringing something to the club by giving some speeches ».
“I can imagine Rafael Nadal training Carlos Alcaraz”
On the other hand, for its part, Mats Wilander would see Rafael Nadal alongside a certain Carlos Alcaraz : « I can imagine Rafael Nadal training Carlos Alcaraz. Alcaraz has one of the best coaches in the tennis world in Juan Carlos Ferrero. But the only thing he lacks is being able to maintain the same level of intensity from the first to the last point, whether on the ATP circuit in the best of three sets, in the Davis Cup, or in the Grand Slam. best of five. Nadal was the master of maintaining concentration and Carlos is not able to do that in every match. Neither John McEnroe, nor Roger Federer, nor myself were capable of it. I see very well what Rafael Nadal could bring to a player, whether to a kid at his academy in Manacor or to a professional or as Davis Cup captain. So I think he will get involved as a coach or to comment on tennis ».
