The gala, orOrganized by the Palencia City Council and the Provincial Council, it will be held this year on Wednesday, December 11, starting at 8:15 p.m. in the Municipal Sports Pavilion. It is worth remembering that, among the new features of this edition, new distinctions are included that reflect the awards’ commitment to sport as a tool for inclusion and development of values. That is why, in addition to the usual recognitions, the awards will include other special distinctions for the jury’s consideration: Grassroots Sport, in Values, Social-Solidarity Causes, Adapted and Inclusive Sport, Women and Sports, Research-Innovation, Sponsorship and collaboration, Health promotion and protection.
On the other hand, this year a popular vote is incorporated that will complement that of the jury. A jury, which will be made up of representatives of the Organizing Committee, delegates from sports federations, local and provincial sports associations, and the media, thus guaranteeing a comprehensive and diverse evaluation of the candidates. Thus, both those attending the gala and those who cannot be present will be able to participate from anywhere, accessing a telematic voting link available on their mobile devices. Voting will be open on the day of the gala between 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., allowing citizens to choose their favorites. Popular votes will have a weight of 25% in the final result, complementing the 75% assigned to the jury’s evaluation.
