Rather interesting since his draft with the Wizards, Alex Sarr already shows a special talent when it comes to defending. But it’s something else in attack, which inevitably causes a bit of debate among the supporters.
While Bilal Coulibaly is making a lot of noise at the Wizards, Alex Sarr is not left out either. His averages? 9.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.3 blocks on average since he made his debut in the Capital. This is not the best start to the season for a rookie in the history of the NBAbut the Frenchman is nevertheless showing promising things.
As we already knew since his draft, it is clear that number 20 has a real ability to defend. Whether we’re talking about taking on an opponent one on one or protecting your circle as much as possible, Sarr shows a unique talent for Wizards. He already has the talent to establish himself as a very special defender, even if it’s something else in attack.
Can Alex Sarr establish himself in the long term in the NBA?
With 34.3% shooting and 16.7% from three points, it is obvious that Sarr has not yet succeeded in adjusting the sights. This news should not surprise anyone, as recruiters have announced that the Frenchman was clearly not ready offensively. There are good things, but the person concerned still lacks regularity.

However, it’s clear that the Wizards didn’t necessarily take Sarr for his offensive prowess. No one expected to see him average 30 points, even if this is debated with the message from journalist Evan Sidery.
Evan Sidery : “Draft number 2 Alex Sarr is shooting 34.3% so far this season, including 16.7% from three-point range with 4.8 attempts per game. »
“Almost half of Sarr’s shots come from behind the perimeter as he continues to struggle to find offensive consistency with the Wizards. »
The news is not surprising, but not necessarily bad. We know that Sarr wants to develop his game and for that, he has no choice, he must not be afraid to try his luck at long distance. And when we see his defensive prowess, we also understand the vision of the Wizards. This is why fans are mixed with this very short observation from the Frenchman.
@ravenwizardd : “You show his offensive problems but you can’t show his crazy defensive numbers? Typical of the media lol. Anyone who knows basketball knows that this guy’s potential is so high that he will never be a bust. »
@3THWENT : “what should a good version of Alex Sarr look like? I can’t remember the last time I was this comfortable watching a rookie play. »
Alex Sarr is showing good things to the Wizards, at least if we talk about the defensive side. On the other side of the floor, however, it is obvious that he must develop, particularly at three points. But nothing unusual for a 19-year-old rookie.
