With a performance of character and quality, Cavese beat Foggia at the Lamberti Stadium and achieved their second consecutive victory in the championship. Vincenzo Maiuri‘s team collects the third useful result in a row and rises to 17 points, one point away from the playoff zone. The trip to the Provincial of Trapani is scheduled in five days.

The biancoblù coach chooses the 4-3-3 as the starting formation. Chance for Barba from the first minute: the 2003 class lines up on the right lane, with Saio and Peretti central, Loreto takes the left wing. In midfield there are Konate, Pezzella and Vitale. Sensational opportunity for the hosts in the 2nd minute. Maneuver developed on the right with Fella who runs on the edge of offside and puts it in the middle, rewarding Vitale’s insertion: the midfielder, from two steps, opens the plate too much and sends it wide. The eagles also try to sting in the 4th minute with a corner kick, the ball crosses the entire area and the action fades. Then it’s Pezzella who invents with a treacherous cross, Vigliotti misses the appointment with the ball and wastes a good opportunity. In the 8th minute Cavese took the lead. Diarrassouba passes to Vitale who lets Barba run: cross from the full-back, De Lucia clears on Parodi and the ball ends up in the net. The Ivorian remains down after a clash with Gargiulo and is forced to go out on a stretcher, then he grits his teeth and from his initiative another danger arises for Foggia. Diarrassouba sprints and serves Vitale who devours the second goal from inside the area. In the 18th minute the Rossoneri equalize: Millico’s brushstroke, Mazzocco overpowers his opponents and beats Boffelli with his head. In the 25th minute Konate’s mistake in disengagement, Murano controls and finishes from distance. Boffelli is ready and smacks the guest center forward’s right-footed shot. Back and forth between the two teams in the middle of the pitch, for a new offensive sortie we have to wait until the 33rd minute: Loreto hits from the left wing, Vigliotti hits with the shoulder and the ball goes out to the bottom. In the 35th minute the Apulians came close to doubling their lead with Murano following a corner, the attacker wasted it in front of the goalkeeper. Three minutes later Salines looks for the first shot, but doesn’t find the target. In the 41st minute the Satanelli restart and the ball goes to Millico who targets Barba and calls Boffelli into play with his right foot. At the end Diarrassouba, served from behind, goes into the open field and with De Lucia coming out he puts it out. The last ring of the opening half goes to Fella, but the result says 1-1 upon returning to the locker room.
Mister Maiuri makes no changes to his game at the start of the second half. Contact between Diarrassouba and Pazienza, nerves tense at the start of the second half: the referee must intervene to restore calm. In the 48th minute Fella starts a trajectory from a tight angle, De Lucia is not flawless in his intervention. The Metellians remain projected forward and Loreto scares Foggia with a cross shot that ends up just out. In the 55th minute Saio put the home team back in the lead: the central defender capitalized on an inactive ball kicked by Pezzella and slipped past De Lucia from close range. From the following corner Diop is unable to correct and the ball ends up at the bottom. In the 73rd minute another opportunity was devoured by the local number 3 who failed in front of De Lucia. In the 77th minute Citarella protests for an alleged touch by Salines, Silvestri from the Roma 1 section disagrees and allows the player to continue. Maffei and Fornito are the last two pieces that Maiuri sends onto the pitch, in the 83rd minute the blue and whites are saved by the magic of Millico who hits the crossbar. In the final Fornito and Diop fail to hit the target, thrill in injury time with Salines who makes Lamberti tremble. At the final whistle the eagles take the victory.
