The 33rd edition of the Buenos Aires Games had its closing party at Paseo Hermitage, on the fourth day of activity. The event was headed by the Undersecretary of Sports, Leandro Lurati, who highlighted the presence of the more than 26 thousand finalists who are part of this event.

The 2024 Buenos Aires Games began on Monday, October 28 and will last until Saturday, November 2, with the participation of the 135 municipalities in the youth categories, people with disabilities, seniors and transplant recipients.

In this regard, Lurati highlighted “the audacity, courage and courage that Governor Axel Kicillof had, in this very difficult year, to enable this competition,” where “there are a lot of stories and people that intersect, and that put the word Buenos Aires at the top.” And he added: “Let’s continue enjoying and betting on sport, which is a way of finding ourselves to build community and the province we want.” Likewise, during her presentation, she reviewed messages that the participants shared from their personal experience, in the mailbox placed in Plaza Almirante Brown with the slogan “Tell us something about the Games.”

The closing ceremony took place on the Paseo Hermitage, where the finalists attended to enjoy the streaming musical show of A Little Noise and then the party Polenta. It was the continuity of a day of definitions, where medals were awarded in disciplines such as skateboarding, artistic gymnastics, robotics, judo, badminton, judo, vocal soloist, among others. In addition, this Friday the semifinals and finals will be held in team sports such as soccer, volleyball, handball, basketball, basketball, softball, rugby, hockey, beach soccer, beach volleyball and beach handball.

This year, the event reached a participation record, with more than 470 thousand people registered, and 26 thousand finalists from all over the province who arrived this week in “La Feliz” for the definition stage, of what has been established as the most important sporting event in the province and the country.

On a sporting level, young people from Mar del Plata Valentino Picone and Matías Iriart They reached the semifinals of the Under 14 Free Doubles, in the tennis of the Buenos Aires Games, and have already secured a medal for General Pueyrredon. The color of that medal remains to be defined.

Picone and Iriart won Zone D undefeated, with victories over Carlos Pellegrini (Bautista Rodríguez Larrañaga and Agustín Duckardt), 4-1 and 4-2; on Tigre (Santino Lecada and Lisandro Yshuk), by WO; and over La Matanza (Valentino Mancuso and Tadeo Fernández), by 4-2, 4-5 and 13-11.

On Thursday, in the semifinals, they will face Chivilcoy (Máximo Cataldi and Bautista Martín), starting at 11 at the Club Náutico.

The other semifinal will be between Bahía Blanca (Santiago Fabris and Conrado Labeyrie) and Azul (Felipe Godoy and Kevin Vena).
The winners of each semifinal will define the gold medal, starting at 2:00 p.m.

The medal chances for the local delegation are also very high in volleyball and beach volleyball and other forms of tennis.

After four days of competition in the provincial finals, La Matanza continues to lead the medal table, with 14 gold, 10 silver and 8 bronze (32 in total), followed by Lomas de Zamora (13-3-3), 19 totals, and Almirante Brown (12-6-8), 26 totals.

Meanwhile, General Pueyrredon is in sixth place, with 10 gold, 14 silver and 8 bronze (32 in total).
