The New York Yankees are putting all their efforts into signing Juan Soto in free agency, however, they have alternative plans in case the Dominican seeks other horizons, such as the Mets, Boston Red Sox or Philadelphia Phillies.
Teoscar Hernández, world champion with the Los Angeles Dodgers, has reiterated his intention to return to Hollywood in 2025, however, he wants a multi-year contract that the Bronx Bombers can give him, in case they lose Soto.
Ryan Finkelstein, from Just Baseball, reiterated that Hernández is the plan B of the Yankees management, who could give him a deal for 4 years and 85 million dollars.
“Hernández is ready to cash in and receive a good salary. Entering his age-32 season, this is his real opportunity to receive a long-term contract. As of 2019, Teoscar is one of the few hitters to have surpassed 25 home runs in each full season. His 158 home runs in that span rank 15th in the MLB.”Finkelstein said.
“Many teams will call on Hernández to add some power to their lineup, but the differentiating factor in negotiations may come down to who is willing to commit to him for more years,” he added.
The outfielder had an offensive line of .272/.339/.501 with 32 doubles, 33 home runs, 99 RBIs and 12 stolen bases in the regular season with the Dodgers, being important in winning the championship.
