The last fights take place and after noon the National Closing Judo Tournament ends at the “Federación” stadium. The contest had a successful development as a result of “the great work that was carried out by the Government of the province, the Jujeña Federation and the Argentine Confederation,” said Luis Calvetti.
The Secretary of Sports of the province highlighted the party that was experienced throughout these days “an enormous work is being materialized that has been developing for a couple of months with the Jujeña Judo Federation, the Argentine Confederation, the 1,200 judocas from all over the country gave it the shine that this competition deserved,” he told El Tribuno de Jujuy.
Without a doubt, “having counted on the country’s 24 federations reflects the level of competition that the entire contest had in each of the categories, both for women and men, as well as for people with disabilities.”
Calvetti stressed that “it is a pride as a Jujeño to be part of the national sports circuit, we are very happy about that, throughout the weekend there was a great movement of athletes in the province who had the support of their families, with judo they mobilized around 3 thousand people,” he commented.
On the other hand, he stated that it was possible to comply with what “our Governor Carlos Sadir always asks us to do, to divide the sport more, to bring more disciplines to every corner of the province, this is a national competition.”
For today, the last fights will be in the kyu novice category in the different weights and will last until noon, after the judges’ lunch break, it will be time for the graduated kyu.
Without a doubt, as happened throughout the weekend, a packed “Federation” stadium is expected, not only the four tatami mats that receive the wrestlers, but also the stands, since all the delegations support their teammates from the stands.
At the end of the day, the prizes will be awarded to the best in each of the categories and then the delegations will embark on a return trip to their corresponding places of origin.
Legislative interest
The National Clausura tournament that culminates today was declared of “Legislative Interest” by the Legislature of the province, as well as the decree of “Guest of Honor” was given to former judoka and Olympic medalist Paula Pareto. Without a doubt, the support of the different areas of the provincial state was fundamental for the successful development of the tournament. It should be noted that the Same team accompanied the judokas throughout the day and provided assistance to those who suffered injuries or blows.
