The Cus doubles the spaces, covering the basketball court

Cus Macerata doubles the spaces. In the new location in via Cassiano da Fabriano, a pressostatic ball has been installed to cover the basketball court which is located immediately adjacent to the gym of the IV Novembre school. It is the reinforcement that the Municipality has made available to Cus Macerata which since last summer has temporarily moved to via Cassiano from Fabriano with its offices and since September has been using the spaces of the gym and for a few days also of this new tensile structure which guarantees further areas for competitive and amateur activities.

The pressostatic ball is one of the two structures that the Cus had available in its old location in via Valerio and has now been reassembled next to the gym, practically doubling the spaces available to those who attend the courses and sporting activities of the guided association by president Totò De Introna. Before assembling the tensile structure, the works had involved the installation of the engine and all the perimeter anchorages with the creation of the water collection channel. The municipal administration has entrusted the intervention for the creation of acrylic resin sports flooring to the Copar company for the total amount of 20,818.08 eurosthus contributing to the installation of the roof on the former basketball court.

After 38 years this summer the Cus left the facilities in via Valerio (where public housing buildings will be built) and moved to via Cassiano from Fabriano. An apartment for the offices and systems that are immediately behind: the Cus is using those of the IV Novembre school, namely the institute’s gym plus now the outdoor field which has been closed with the installation of the pressostatic ball, an intervention that will allow you to carry out sporting activities even during the winter. Activity that includes five-a-side football, basketball, volleyball, athletics, judo and tennis. With numbers in line with regards to registrations compared to those that the University Sports Center had in previous years. During last summer’s move, fears arose regarding the move to this new temporary location which however did not bring any consequences or inconveniences to the business. The students and members in general who frequented the facilities in via Valerio followed the Cus in this new destination.

The activities, with the exception of five-a-side football which finds space in the Salesian facilities and basketball which uses the PalaVirtus, all take place between the gym of the IV Novembre school and the basketball court which has undergone restyling of the bottom and the covering with the pressostatic ball . The new Cussina arrangement is provisional and temporary while waiting for the University construction site in Viale Indipendenza to lead to the creation of the new sports center by 2025. The area, owned by the University of Macerata, falls within the area of ​​the former psychiatric hospital of Santacroce: next to the expanded university residence, new sports and recreational facilities are being built with a fitness room, an 800 square meter gym for team sports, spaces for changing rooms, three fields multipurpose facilities for five-a-side football and tennis which will be connected to the buildings with a system of pedestrian and vehicular paths surrounded by greenery.
