At a regular meeting of the municipal council Monday evening, the elected officials of Victoriaville were keen to highlight the magnificent career of the eight dancers of the dance troupe Les amis d’Elliot following their remarkable appearance on the show Quel talent! as well as the exploits of the champion team of the 2024 season of the Quebec Major Baseball League (LBMQ), the Victoriaville Cactus.
At the start of the ordinary meeting of the municipal council, the honored personalities were able to meet the municipal council on the sidelines of the public session and sign the Guest Book to perpetuate the tribute paid to them.
The mayor of Victoriaville, Antoine Tardif, took advantage of the presence of these exceptional citizens to highlight their achievements: “The dance troupe Les amis d’Elliot and the Cactus de Victoriaville have given us great emotions over the last few years. weeks. Facing adversity, these exceptional citizens were able to inspire Quebec by distinguishing themselves in their respective competition. By welcoming them to town hall, the municipal council wishes to congratulate them, highlight their exceptional careers and share their noteworthy exploits. »
Supported by Le Clarétain – Kdanse de Victoriaville, the Troupe Les amis d’Elliot attracted praise from the judges of the show Quel talent! broadcast this fall at Noovo. Thanks to the support of their teachers Anne-Sophie Desharnais and Ophélie Houle, the members of the troupe demonstrated perseverance by demonstrating their know-how during two performances praised by the public. The troupe is made up of Xavier Gingras, Cédric Laroche, Alexandre Roux, Antonie Riel-Désilets, Florence Morin, Josianne Hébert, James Enzler and Marc-André Dubois.
For its part, the Cactus de Victoriaville team finished in first place in the B45 division. The team had a postseason worthy of the sweetest dreams, ending their season by winning the Physio Extra Cup awarded to the LBMQ champion team in front of their fans at the Rémi-Deshaies stadium. During 2024, the Victoriaville team attracted record crowds during its local games.
