He passed away this morning, at the age of 72, Tiziano Meschieria well-known figure in the city. He had been a metalworker and then a printer, before an overwhelming passion for theater made its way into his life which he combined with various occupations and activism in politics to make it, particularly after retirement, his very reason for living. A trait of particular extroversion had distinguished him since he was a boy, as remembered by the survivors of the Petaluma club, born towards the end of the 1960s in the parish of San Nicolò thanks to the benevolence of Father Natale: a club of culture, trips, sports and theater and strong center of attraction for the young people of the parish. From that environment arose shortly after another adventure that would see Meschieri as the protagonist: the importation of baseball to Carpi, as Girasoli Baseball Club, then as Carpi Baseball Club and finally as Petaluma Baseball Club. The theater will gradually make its way in his interests, first by attending the workshops of the Municipality, subsequently with performances and readings on official occasions or in the famous carpentry shop of the Beltrami brothers, a place of theatrical and literary meetings in old Carpi. But it will be with participation in the permanent Laboratory of Living Arts atélier, in Soliera, that the passion will become a sort of second profession, allowing him to take part in various performances produced by the atélier and mostly directed by Stefano Cencisuch as “Del bene e del male” (2011), “The seven deadly sins” (2016), “The giraffe” (2017), “At dawn we will be free” (2018), “Le système avance” and “Narciso in the gaze of others” (2019).
