The Mercedes-Benz system for highly automated driving has won one of the most prestigious awards in the automotive industry: the magazines ‘Auto Bild‘ and ‘Bild am Sonntag‘ have, in fact, awarded the DRIVE PILOT with the ‘Golden Steering Wheel 2024 ‘ as best innovation. Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, accepted the important award. With the updated version of DRIVE PILOT, Mercedes-Benz is one step closer to autonomous driving according to the editors and, as a German brand, would decisively advance this technology globally. The awards ceremony took place during a gala on November 7, 2024 at the Axel Springer Building in Berlin.
Mercedes-Benz had already presented the latest evolutionary phase of the DRIVE PILOT to selected media at a press driving event at the end of September. ‘Auto Bild’ and ‘Bild am Sonntag’ were among them. The new version of the DRIVE PILOT is now able to follow the driver in front on the motorway up to 95 km/h in certain conditions, offering customers significant added value
