The Eagles confirm the hiring of pitcher Nathan Landry

The Trois-Rivières Aigles are back to work for the 2025 season and they have announced the first signing of their roster, left-handed pitcher Nathan Landry. The former color bearer of the Aigles Junior de Trois-Rivières will begin a fourth season among the professionals.

A 15th round pick of the Boston Red Sox in the 2022 draft, the 25-year-old pitcher has played 82 innings in affiliated baseball during his career with the Red Sox FCL (Rookie Level), Salem Red Sox (Level A ) and the Greenville Drive (Level A+).

The Victoriavillois appeared a few times on the mound in the Eagles uniform, at the end of the season last year, having been released by the Red Sox organization. In 4 2/3 innings, he had 5 strikeouts, in addition to posting an ERA of 3.86 and a WHIP of 1.93.

“I attach great importance to the pitching staff in a team and it was a priority for me to secure Nathan’s services for next year,” said the new Eagles manager, Jonathan Albaladejo. Landry’s signing was at the top of our scoreboard for the offseason. I have received many very complimentary comments about him since I took office and I am very happy to be able to count on him in my lineup for next summer. »

“I am very happy to be back with the Eagles,” commented the main interested party, very happy with his return to Trois-Rivières. For me, it’s like a return to my roots following my five seasons spent with the Junior Eagles. I can’t wait to get back on the mound at Quillorama Stadium. »

The Trois-Rivières Aigles will begin the 12th season in their history – and their 4th in the Frontier League – on May 8 by visiting the Sussex County Miners. They will then face the Evansville Otters and the Gateway Grizzlies, on the road, before proceeding to their local opener on May 20, at Quillorama Stadium, against the Miners.

“We are always very happy when we have the chance to count on Quebec players in our lineup,” adds Aigles president René Martin. It remains a priority for us to give local players the chance to showcase themselves among the professionals. »

“Plus, Nathan grew up in the Eagles organization so he will be very much at home at Quillorama Stadium. At the baseball level, he brings great experience after his time in the Red Sox organization. As a bonus, he is already very well involved in the community so he is definitely a very big asset for our organization,” he concludes. (JC / Source Aigles de Trois-Rivières / Vincent Gauthier)
