The FBC turns the school break into a boost for local basketball

The Ceuta Basketball Federation (FBC) will transform this weekend’s break in school competitions into an opportunity to enhance referee training and reinforce the preparation of its regional teams. The facilities of the Antonio Campoamor sports center will be the epicenter of a calendar full of activities that seek to consolidate the development of local basketball.

Referee training: from the classroom to the court

Since the beginning of November, almost twenty future referees have been trained thanks to the course organized by the FBC. Led by Sucaina Hamed, Raúl Martínez and Macarena Berruezo, members of the Referee Committee, the participants have received theoretical training on regulations, refereeing mechanics and signaling techniques. This weekend, the course enters its practical phase with sessions designed to work on key aspects such as the application of the rules on the court, the management of the electronic scoreboard and the management of the possession clock. Once completed, the students will join the Referee Committee school and will be able to serve as officials during local competitions.

Concentration of regional teams

In addition, the Ceuta children’s and cadet teams, both male and female, will intensify their preparation for the Spanish Regional National Team Championship, which will be held in Huelva from January 3 to 7. With training scheduled throughout the weekend at the Antonio Campoamor sports center, on Sunday they will have a friendly match that will serve as a litmus test to evaluate their progress. After months of work and previous confrontations both in Ceuta and on the peninsula, the teams face the final stretch of their preparation with the aim of surpassing last year’s results.

The Constitution Bridge will be the culmination of this stage, with the dispute of new friendlies against top teams, an opportunity to refine details before traveling to Huelva.
