The Herri Krosa of Erandio will reach its 35th edition this Sunday with the objective of having 1,300 athletes of all categories running in the streets of the Biscayan town “for free”, as the members of the Erandio Athletic School recalled in the presentation, promoter of the competition.

As in previous years, the first tests will be the school tests, starting at 10:30 a.m. on Tartanga Street, with distances that will range from one to four laps, depending on the age of the participants. At 11:50 a.m. the family race will take place, over 750 meters, and at 12:15 p.m., the absolute test will begin, with seven kilometers with the usual three laps that include the demanding climb behind the Bekoa school. As Juan Ángel Galiana, head of the Erandio Athletic School, explained, “statistics from recent years indicate that about 500 athletes take part in the school class, another 500 people in the family class, and in the senior class we have about 300 participants. 1,300 in total, which is a considerable figure for Erandio,” he stated in the presentation of the appointment in which EL CORREO collaborates.

As usual, registration is free and this year there is a small novelty. «Athletes in school categories must also register online, on the Erandio Athletics School website, in this way they will wear a bib that they will pick up at the Tartanga sports center from 9:30 a.m. on the day of the test, both schoolchildren and seniors. ». Regarding the registration period, it closes this Friday at 11 in the morning.

Each participant will receive a bag of supplies and a ticket for a draw for one hundred gifts “which are added to the trophies that are given out in the square at 1 p.m. As always, about a hundred trophies from the youngest category. And in addition, there will be a food collection campaign with the Red Cross. “This year they ask us to collect milk and oil for solidarity, during the morning of the race, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the start and finish area on Tartanga Street.”
