The handball players are not entirely happy about the new floor. The president of TV Solothurn is irritated by the conspicuous badminton markings and regrets that the club will have to pay for the necessary special cleaning itself in the future.
The new floor is designed specifically for badminton, which irritates the club as its previous main user, reports Oetterli. The handball field used to be demarcated in color, which enabled quick orientation during the match.

The long duration of the renovation also caused problems for the handball club, as Oetterli reports. Instead of the announced three weeks, installation took seven weeks. The association therefore had to switch to other communities, which led to high costs.

In addition, there will be a further burden on the club’s treasury in the future: the building contract between the municipality and the sports center is currently being revised. In the future, there will be no need for special cleaning, which is required due to the adhesive of the handballs. Therefore, the club itself has to pay for removing the resin residue from the hall floor. If there were to be a complete ban on the Harz Mountains, the club would no longer be able to train in Solothurn, says Oetterli. (fot)
