The general assembly of the Hiriburuko Ainhara judo section was held on Friday November 15. The meeting room near the dojo brought together a happy family audience, just like the club, after a training session bringing together a large part of its members.
The president, Laurence Delplang, provided an exhaustive assessment of the highlights of the past financial year, recalling the pride of having led Ohiana Saint-Esteben-Pelletan to obtain her black belt. She expressed the wish that Mickaël would imitate her very soon. The young shoots were spoiled: they were able to compete in a number of competitions, in partnership with the Anglet club which offers serious opposition allowing them to progress a lot. The president did not fail to salute the dedication of parents who intend to support and encourage these future champions.
The section has more than 61 members, barely a quarter of whom are women. A regrettable observation as the girls bring their good humor during the sessions and the various competitions.
Change of secretary
Not without emotion, Thomas Poilvé, secretary of the association, announced his decision to retire from the office after years of service started when he was the father of a judoka. Anxious to fully assume his role as president of the omnisport, he invited volunteers to apply to continue to defend the good atmosphere of this section.
With Marie Pérès, his assistant for community life, Mayor Alain Iriart praised “the virtues of this sport which teaches humility and respect”. Qualities carried by the “historic” judo teacher, Roland Dargelez, and by the dedicated members of an office who defend a dynamic association. He thanked the audience “who know how to show up and lend a helping hand during the town’s festive events”.
Finally, anxious to preserve the good condition of the carpets of a dojo used by several associations, the mayor announced that he would bring together their managers very soon to define a charter for good use.
