Today, the sports championship for the district teams was launched in Sana’a Governorate, within the framework of commemorating the anniversary of the martyr, and in support of the Al-Aqsa Flood.
The opening match brought together the teams of Al-Hosn and Jahana districts and ended with the latter winning by three goals to two.
After the match, the director of the Youth and Sports Office in the governorate, Abdul Mohsen Al-Sharif, explained that the tournament comes within the framework of everyone’s awareness of the importance of the culture of jihad and martyrdom and the greatness of the martyrs who sacrificed their blood and lives for the sake of pride and dignity.
He stated that the teams of ten directorates will participate in the tournament, and it will last 15 days, with an all-playing-all system, divided into two groups.
The opening match was attended by the Director of the Office’s Sports Activity Department, Captain Nabil Al-Namous, the heads of the sports teams participating in the tournament, a number of national team players, and a large gathering of fans and interested parties.
