The participation of the CTD of Asturias in the Hungarian International in Budapest ends

The athletes from the Asturias Technical Center concluded their participation in the Hungarian International held in Budapest, where Jana Villanueva, Amaia Torralba, Marcos García, Adolfo López and Vicente Gázquez, accompanied by coach Fran Dacal, represented the center and added international experience.

In mixed, Marcos García and Jana Villanueva started in the qualifying draw, where they beat the local duo Milan Mesterhazy and Zsofi Szabo, achieving the pass to the main draw, where they lost in a disputed three-set match against the Slovenian Jan Krumpak and Zoja Novak . Vicente Gázquez and Amaia Torralba also competed in mixed, falling just short of the quarterfinals after losing to the English Oliver Butler and Sian Kelly.

In men’s doubles, the couples formed by Marcos García – Adolfo López and Vicente Gázquez – Alberto Perals faced difficult matches in their first rounds, where, although they showed great effort, they were left out of the competition.

In women’s doubles, Jana Villanueva and Amaia Torralba went directly to the round of 16, where they faced Malena Norrman and Xu Wei. Although they stood up in each set, they lost the match in two sets to their rivals.

Call for the III Ibero-American Championship in El Salvador

Jana Villanueva, Amaia Torralba and Marcos García from the CTD of Asturias have been selected to be part of the U-23 National Team in the next Ibero-American and International Championship in El Salvador, which will be held from November 26 to 30. In this tournament, the Spanish Álvaro Leal and Uriel Canjura for El Salvador will also be present, both have been part of the CTD of Asturias in previous stages of its formation.
