From November 14 to 17, San Salvador de Jujuy will host the 2024 Clausura National Judo Championship, one of the most important events on the country’s sports calendar. In this tournament, more than 1,300 judokas from all over the national territory will meet at the Federación de Básquet Stadium, seeking points for the national ranking and to stand out in their respective categories, from children to seniors.
The San Juan delegation will be represented by athletes from the San Juan Judo Federation, who will participate in various categories:
- Children: Luciano Rodríguez.
- Sub 18: Antonella Riveros, Mateo Dávila, Juan Vargas, Martin Rosas, Franco Muñoz and Lautaro Méndez.
- Sub 21: Marco Álamo, Santiago Rosas and Guadalupe Muñoz.
- Kyu (adults): Gianmarco De Leone, Joaquín Sánchez, Alex Cortez, Markos Lee, Carlos Bustos and Franco Jofre.
- Seniors (black belts): Agustín Rosas, José Mostacilla, Azul Coldwell and Jeremías Fernández.
The San Juan delegation will be led by coach Ricardo Meritello.
The championship, which has the support of the Government of Jujuy and the Sports Secretariat of the province, is part of the Sports Development Plan 2024. Throughout the four days of competition, participants will be in a high-level environment, with the opportunity to compete against the best judokas in the country.
In addition, the event will feature the presence of Paula Pareto, Olympic and world champion, who will be in charge of inspiring those present at the opening ceremony on November 15, sharing her experience and motivation with the competitors.
