This Saturday, a minute of silence was observed at the beginning of the XXV La Feria Judo Games and the VI Alhama Judo Cup. Both events were held in the Adolfo Suárez Pavilion with great success in participation and results.
On this occasion, the Games included two activities: the IV Alhama Judo Cup for the children and cadet categories and the El Zagalico – Family Judo exhibition for children-judokas accompanied by their parents, reports the Alhama Judo Club.
The IV Judo Cup had a huge influx of judokas and was an edition with a record number of entries, which reached 200. Quality was also present as several national medalists performed in the different categories and weights.
The performance of the Alhameño judokas was outstanding, especially in the women’s section since all of them reached the final. However, only Laura Andreo got the gold medal, leaving Caroline Houdusse and Andrea Ortiz with the silver medal.
The complete results were as follows:
– 1st Laura Andreo López, in cat. child -52 kilos.
– 2nd Caroline Houdusse Vialas, in cat. cadet -48 pounds.

After the competition, a fun exhibition was held with the ‘family judo’ format that had 60 participants. This activity consisted of a training session where young judokas (between 3 and 12 years old) invited their parents to train with them.
During the session, they played different initiation games, an introduction to falls, rehearsed different ‘holds’, continued with a unique judo combat and ended with a relaxation technique.
Afterwards, parents and children received a Judo medal and a gift as a souvenir of the activity.
The next event for our judokas will be the Extremadura Kata Cup where the Spanish runners-up, Andrea and Belén Ortiz, as well as Caroline Houdusse and Javier García, will perform, and the Madrid Cup with the participation of Laura Andreo.
