Hradec Králové footballers will play a match tomorrow at half past seven against the leading team of the league table, Slavia Prague. The Sišivans have not lost at home this season, only a draw with Slovácko from the first round robbed them of two points. Since then, Jindřich Trpišovský’s men have collected 11 victories in a row, to which they have added great performances in European cups. The Votroks have a very difficult task ahead of them if they want to score points in the match against the sovereign of the league.
The home team goes into tomorrow’s game with two wins in a row. During the week, they advanced to the round of 16 in the MOL Cup, after winning 1:0 over Loko Praha from the third league. We certainly imagined the match differently, but the main thing is the fact that we managed to reach the round of 16 of the cup, which is the most important thing for us,” assistant coach Adrián Rolko told the club’s website. The only goal of the match was scored by Adam Griger, who had already scored three goals.
The visitors have not lost in their last four matches. They recorded their first away win of the season against the struggling Budějovice, and the vast majority of points were won at home. The home atmosphere of the sold-out Malšák could be one of the factors that could help Hradec against the sovereign Slavists.
“I’m curious about how the match will look like. I know the strength of Slavia, they are in great form at the moment, so it will be an extremely difficult game for us. Nevertheless, I believe that we are capable of properly tormenting them at home,” announced Hradec midfielder Daniel Samek before the match. The midfielder made his league debut in the Sešívané squad, his great performances earned him a job in Lecce, Italy. Now he is ready to take on his former team-mates and make them uncomfortable in their so far superb journey to the league title.
“I’m looking forward to the people from the club and the teammates I worked with there. But I will not deal with it before the match, my thoughts will be focused only on the match itself. I’m happy that the stadium is sold out, because a lot of people will come and there will be a great atmosphere,” added the 20-year-old midfielder. We will find out if Hradec can get points against the bloated Slavia team tomorrow evening, when the iconic lollipops will light up the hopelessly sold-out Malšovice stadium.
