The “Stars of Sports” competition is an initiative of the German Olympic Sports Confederation and the Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken. The “Stars of Sports” have been honoring sports clubs and their many volunteers for their social commitment for around 20 years. These great achievements still receive too little public recognition. The “Stars of Sport” want to honor this. With their offerings, the sports clubs support children and young people, help protect their health, support families and promote better coexistence. All clubs that are honored with the “Stars of Sports in Silver” at the state level have previously qualified as winners of the “Great Star of Sports in Bronze” at the local level. The first winning clubs at state level automatically take part in the national finals and have the chance to win “Sports Stars in Gold”.
