In the middle of preseason, Cycling teams are planning the 2025 calendar and configuring the objectives of its main figures. One of those that has the most to win – or, in this case, defend – is the UAE Emirates, which seeks to fit all its stars throughout the competitive year so that they have, at the same time, their share of prominence and serve collective interests.
And one of those expected to take a leap forward is the young Spanish Juan Ayuso. According to reports from Italy, La Gazzetta dello Sport, the team led by Joxean Fernández ‘Matxin’ would be thinking about giving the Barcelonan an alternative to storm the Giro d’Italia.
It would, therefore, be the first time that Ayuso would have the team at his disposal to try to win a ‘big one’. It is not new for him to be around the noble positions of a three-week tour, as he has already achieved a third and a fourth in the Vuelta a España, but without the pressure of leading the most powerful squad in world cycling.
At the moment the racing program of the Spanish runner is not closed, butor going to the Giro is a real option on the table. He would be accompanied by a strong team that, most likely, would also include the Mexican Isaac Del Toro, always according to the Italian newspaper.
What is indisputable is the leader figure of Tadej Pogacar in the Tour, where he will defend last year’s brilliant victory. Rumors suggest that the Slovenian star would do a double between the French round and the Vuelta a España.
