The Warriors think they have found their starting five

Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins and Trayce Jackson-Davis are the only Warriors to have started all matches (when available) since the start of the season. So we can say that Steve Kerr has found his quartet. For the last starting spot, however, the coach tinkered with Brandin Podziemski, Jonathan Kuminga and Gary Payton II. Then, in Oklahoma City, the coach decided to let him go De’Anthony Melton in the big five. The former Grizzlies and Sixers guard took advantage of this opportunity by posting 19 points, 10 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists.

“I think it allows us to have a complete roster,” said Steve Kerr, who will revamp the big five against the Mavericks. “Melton is good on both ends of the floor: he’s a good passer, a great 3-point shooter and an excellent man defender. We talked during training camp about putting him in the starting five, and I liked that. This choice also allows the Warriors have great depth on the bench with Buddy Hield, Brandin Podziemski, Moses Moody, Kevon Looney and Kyle Anderson, Gary Payton II and a Jonathan Kuminga who has grown since he is no longer a starter. The Warriors bench scored 44 points in the victory on the Thunder.
