The world’s first high altitude para sports center will be built in Leh.

Leh, November 12 (Language) The world’s first high altitude para sports center will be built in Leh, Ladakh with the aim of instilling skills and confidence in the players before the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympics.

An MoU to this effect was signed between Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh and Aditya Mehta Foundation.

Councilor Advocate Tashi Gyalson, Chief Executive Councilor, said, “It is a very proud moment for us that the world’s first high altitude center for Para sports is being built in Leh. Indian para athletes won 29 medals at the 2024 Paris Paralympics which is a testament to the talent present in our country.

The center offers archery, athletics, badminton, blind football, boccia, canoeing, cycling, horse riding, goalball, judo, powerlifting, sailing, shooting, volleyball, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, triathlon, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair fencing, wheelchair rugby, Wheelchair tennis can be practiced.
