these two emblematic stars of the saga had to wait 37 years to meet in real life!

Two major interpreters of Star Wars who had to wait until 2014 to meet in the flesh? It’s possible! The regretted Carrie Fisher et James Earl Jones had in fact never crossed paths on the set of a film in the saga and for good reason: the second named was always at a distance, in a sound booth, to lend his voice to the iconic character of Darth Vader ( physically played by David Prowse). And so they had to wait many years to finally have the opportunity to see each other in real life!

The first “real” meeting on screen Carrie Fisherlegendary interpreter of Princess Leia, and James Earl Jonestook place in 2014, in episode 14 of the seventh season of The Big Bang Theorytitled The Sheldon Covenant. Disappointed at not having had tickets for San Diego Comic-Con, the geek troupe imagines which stars from the Star Wars saga could be invited if they organized their own convention.

Sheldon will then have the chance to meet James Earl Jonesthe voice of Darth Vader, with whom he becomes friends, notably sharing with him a karaoke session and a moment in a sauna! A little later in the episode, Star Wars fans exult: James Earl Jones takes Sheldon to the front of Carrie Fisher. He rings the doorbell then leaves. Fisher then comes out of her house, furious, with a baseball bat in hand, and shouts: “It’s not funny anymore, James!”

“This tiny scene was a way of finally giving each other a real voice”said James Earl Jones on the microphone of the IGN site. A very funny moment (and inevitably a little moving) to discover in the player below.

For the record, when the two Hollywood stars saw each other for the first time behind the scenes of the series The Big Bang Theory, Carrie Fisher (who gave 27 slaps to a star of the intergalactic saga) exclaimed “Papa !” in reference to the fact, we will not tell you anything, that Princess Leia is the daughter of Darth Vader.
