At Real Sociedad they are eager for revenge after the lost derby against Athletic Bilbao last Sunday. Defender Aihen Muñoz warned the upcoming opponent Ajax.
After losing the Basque derby, Real Sociedad will take on Ajax in the Europa League on Thursday evening. Muñoz can’t wait to take revenge. “For me, every match is special at Real Sociedad,” he said at the press conference. ‘Ajax is a historical rival. It is a team that always wants the ball, with its own vision, with a lot of quality and that is having a great year.’
Yet he warns Ajax in advance. ‘If they want to win here, they will have to run a lot, because we run like animals here. We are hungry and want to fight hard.’ His trainer Imanol Alguacil was also complimentary about Ajax. ‘The team is in a great period. They are very daring on the ball and very dynamic.’
Imanol praised the versatility of the Amsterdammers. ‘Ajax can hurt you with positional play, but also in transition. It is not without reason that they have not lost sixteen games in sixteen games, scored many goals and showed attractive football. This is exactly what we all like, so I think we’ll have a super fun match tomorrow.’
