The trial is over and there is a sentence. Roberto Omar Ali (35) alias “Tito”, the singer of La Liga, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for having sexually abused from a friend of his daughter, 11 years old. The cumbiero had been in preventive detention since 2023.
The victim’s lawyer referred to the nature of the sentence. “It is a condemnation of effective compliance y will not be eligible for parole. At most, he will achieve assisted freedom six months before the sentence expires,” explained Mauricio Varela.

The sentence was handed down by the Tribunal Oral Criminal Nº1 of the city of Dolores, Buenos Aires after a trial that lasted almost a month. It should be noted that the prosecution had requested 16 years in prison, the complaint requested 18 years and the defense sought acquittal.
The facts and Tito’s defense
In total, two days of debate were held in which 8 witnesses testified, including the complainant and the accused. As Varela revealed to TNhis client said that one of the abuses was on his birthday and since then “he doesn’t like to celebrate anything.”
And he added: “In the first incident he was totally drugged, the story was very illustrative of a tremendous situation. The next day The girl woke up in a lot of pain”. Furthermore, the lawyer assured that the abuses, some of them with carnal access“they were checked by the doctor.”
For his part, Tito pleaded not guilty. “He said he was innocent and that he wanted justice to be done. That it was a false complaint based on the fact that the mother introduced this to the girl because she had left her without a job,” said Varela. The musician also maintained that “all artists receive similar complaints.”
