We return to talking about the terrible evening of chaos and violence consumed it last September 30th along the meadows of the Talvera Pass. A fight between about fifteen peoplesomeone armies of knives, bars, baseball bats and even machetes, had required the immediate intervention of all the patrols of the “Flying” Squad of the State Police.

The officers found themselves faced with a dramatic scene: four men seriously injured on the ground, with passers-by attempting to provide first aid. The victims, all of Afghan origin, suffered extremely serious injuries.

One of them, a 29ennewas hospitalized in intensive care with a reserved prognosis for a skull fracture and considered life-threatening, as well as a 40ennewith a fracture of the skull base and trachea. The two others injuredaged 25 and 28, they had suffered a severed hand tendon and a fractured elbow respectively; both with a 30 day prognosis.

The investigations, entrusted to the Flying Squad of the State Police and supported by the Scientific Police, had brought to light the dynamics of the incident.

L’aggression it had been premeditated and orchestrated by two brothers of Iranian originbacked by accomplices including a 24-year-old Afghan citizen and a 31-year-old Albanian, both with criminal records.

Investigators had reconstructed how the attack arose from old grudges between the two groups. In the days before the brawl, the victims had been threatened with death messages sent by their Iranian brothers.

The evening of the attackaround 7.45pm, the attackers had come armed and attacked the rival group. Among the protagonists of the violence, the eldest of the brothers, a 33-year-old Italian citizen of Iranian origin, had hit two of the victims with a machete, reducing one of them to the point of death.

The police operations had led to discovery of blood-stained weapons and clothing attributable to the attackers.

Based on the evidence collected, the GIP of the Court of Bolzano had issued three orders precautionary custody in prison of the Italian-Iranian brothersaged 33 and 24 respectively, and the Afghan citizen, known as “Tofan”.

Nello last weekendi three men were arrested at two separate homes in the city. At the end of the judicial proceedings, they were transferred to the Bolzano prison on charges of illegal possession of weapons and very serious personal injury, aggravated by gang violence and the use of weapons.

For the Albanian citizenthe Police Commissioner of Bolzano has issued a decree of immediate expulsion. The man was transferred to Tirana under guardwhile a similar provision will be carried out for the 24-year-old Afghan once the judicial proceedings are concluded.

The Police Commissioner has also started the procedures for theapplication of special surveillance for all other participants in the attackunderlining the gravity of an episode that profoundly shook the city community.

“It was a very serious criminal episode, characterized by particular, unmotivated violence, which only by chance, up until now, has not had much more tragic consequences” Commissioner Sartori highlighted.

“Such incidents cannot be tolerated. Hence the drastic measures adopted, both on a judicial and administrative level, aimed at bringing those responsible to justice and stopping a criminal escalation of violence and retaliation such as to create many critical issues in terms of public order and citizen safety. .”
