Fusion Oostende, Standard de Liège and VZW Juna Foot have been distinguished during the Come Together Awards, which reward their efforts for a more inclusive football climate. These awards, organized by the Royal Belgian Football Association (KBVB), the Pro League, Voetbal Vlaanderen and the Association Clubs Francophones de Football (ACFF), aim to combat discrimination and racism in sport.
In July, a call was made to amateur and professional clubs to nominate innovative projects, with a jury consisting of well-known footballers such as Thierry Witsel and Kassandra Missipo ultimately selecting the winners. Fusion Oostende received the award in the amateur category because of the #ookgirlscanscore campaign, aimed at attracting more girls to football. In the professional category, Standard de Liège was honored for their Duo Kick-Off initiative, which introduces people with mental and/or physical disabilities to the sport. Finally, non-profit organization Juna Foot has been recognized for their work with youth teams in Salm, Sart and Lierneux, integrating children with a refugee background from Fedasil into football.
