Judo from Huelva had an outstanding participation in the absolute Spanish Championship
Last weekend, the judo team Huelva TSV traveled to Caceres to compete in the Qualifying Phase Southern Sector of the Absolute Spanish Championshipwhere the three best of each weight category from the autonomous communities of Andalusia, Canary Islands, Castilla La Mancha, Extremadura, Ceuta and Melilla they would be classified.
The Huelva club, which trains daily at the Municipal Polideportivo Diego Lobato with the support of Huelva City Councilattended the event with several athletes: Rafael Jimenez (-73Kg), Javier Perez (-66Kg), Sergio Orcera (-73kg) and Juan José Callejas (-81kg). These last two, although they train in Huelva for academic reasons, are federated by clubs from Córdoba and Granada, respectively.
Rafael Jimenezcompeting in the -73kg category, advanced to the semifinals, where he was defeated, thus achieving the bronze medal and its national classification. Similarly, Javier Pérez (-66kg) and Juan José Callejas (-81kg) qualified, while Sergio Orcera (-73kg) suffered an injury in his first match and was unable to continue in the competition. So, Rafael, Javier and Juan José manage to qualify for the final phase of the Spanish Absolute Championshipwhich will be held at the end of this month in the Canary Islands.
This Saturday, Huelva TSV organizes an important event for its athletesthe first Huelva TSV Judo League, a sports and educational competition that will take place at the Diego Lobato Sports Center. The event has managed to bring together more than 300 people, including all the athletes and their families, and has had the support of eight local and Madrid companies, as well as the essential collaboration of the Huelva City Council.
