Three titles at Mini-Cup finals

Remagen. The BC Remagen badminton youth team remains on the road to success. At the final of the so-called Oliver Mini-Cup series, the youngest players were able to achieve great success again. The Mini Cup is a small tournament series for the age groups U9 to U12. Luna Haevescher (U10), Svenja Gebhardt and Robin Becker (both U12) once again made it to the top of the podium on the last day of the tournament. Thanks to a great fighting performance, Sami Kadioglu was able to secure third place in an exciting three-set game and was able to reach the podium together with Robin. Robin had to give everything in his last match to leave the field as the winner after losing the first set with a strong mental performance against his opponent from the Westerwald. Lucy Becker performed bravely in her U11 age group, was able to gain a lot of experience and achieved a conciliatory victory in her last game. Fifth place in the final standings is certainly a good starting position for them to attack again next season.

In the overall ranking of the three tournaments in 2024, Svenja, Luna and Robin were able to confidently achieve overall victory with three first places each in their age groups. The overjoyed kids were able to travel home with three gold medals, one bronze medal and three trophies.

The Badminton Club Remagen is still looking for reinforcements for the youth teams. Anyone who enjoys this fast and beautiful sport is welcome to come along to the training session. If you want, you should bring sports equipment with you and you can then take a racket and practice your first shots. Training is always on Wednesdays from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the Rheinhalle, alternatively on Thursdays at the same time in the IGS gymnasium (formerly the secondary school hall).
