In the statement made by TIKA, it was reported that significant infrastructure support was provided to Gayrat and Vahdat Wheelchair Basketball clubs operating in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan. As part of the support provided, professional wheelchairs and various sports equipment were delivered to the clubs. Turkey’s Dushanbe Ambassador Umut Acar, Physical Education Institute Rector Muhammadşo Abdullozoda and TIKA Dushanbe Coordinator İbrahim Ethem Ünal attended the delivery ceremony.

In his speech at the ceremony, Ambassador Acar emphasized that the projects carried out by TIKA in Tajikistan strengthened the bonds of friendship between the two countries, while TIKA Coordinator Ünal reminded of the critical role that sports play in the social integration of disabled individuals. In the next phase of the project, it is aimed to further strengthen the cooperation by organizing various training programs and friendly matches in the field of wheelchair basketball between the two countries.
