After his obscene omission against the Sacramento Kings, Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards has to pay a hefty fine – again.
Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves is not known for having a good handle on himself and his emotions and made that clear again on Friday in the NBA Cup game against the Sacramento Kings.
When the All-Star guard was called for an offensive foul against the Kings, moments later he turned toward the stands and flashed his extended middle finger to the crowd before heading toward the Wolves bench.
The insult was obviously intended towards a fan.
Minnesota’s star is now being asked to pay for this obscene gesture. On Sunday, the basketball league announced the $35,000 fine. Not the first time that Edwards has received a heavy sanction from the NBA. In January he had to pay $40,000 after repeatedly criticizing referee decisions.
In the 130:126 overtime win against the Kings, Edwards scored 36 points, while Sacramento’s De’Aaron Fox set a season-best 60 points.
