There were around thirty judokas from Vienne to participate this Saturday in the Limoges tournament. A competition labeled Excellence, synonymous with very high density: more than six hundred fighters from all over New Aquitaine, but also from Occitanie, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Auvergne -Rhône-Alpes, Brittany and Pays de la Loire.
A competition of a very good national level therefore, in which several clubs from the department participated with the ambition of winning a medal, synonymous with points on the national ranking list, but also to place themselves in relation to some of the best French fighters in this age category. Among them, the USJ 86, the Judo Club du Miosson, the Judo Club Vallée du Clain, the Judo Club de Couhé, the Stade Poitevin Judo and the CSAD-Châtellerault Judo section.
“A clear progression” for Titouan Lecoester
Assessment? Only one judoka classified: Titouan Lecoester, from JC Coué, who will finish seventh in less than 66 kg. Six fights, four victories and two defeats for this fifteen-year-old judoka, first dan black belt and member of the Poitiers hopefuls pole. After three convincing victories, he lost in the quarter-finals against a judoka from a club from Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, before beating the number 2 seed in the category in the repechage and then losing again against a fighter from the Belfort club.
For his teacher, Ludovic Douteau, the day still remained positive. “I have seen real progress on the areas of work that we have implemented since the start of the school year, namely his posture and his movements. This competition shows that he is making clear progress. We are starting to see a real identity in his judo. For the record, he beat the winner of the Label A tournament in Bressuire and a judoka who finished fifth at the Clermont-Ferrand tournament, the benchmark competition at the start of the season. He just lacked a little success and rigor. »
A competition in which Louanne Réveillon from JC Vallée du Clain did not participate, fifth at the 2024 French championships and silver in Clermont-Ferrand less than a month ago. Indeed, she is selected with her club for the European Cup in Greece, on November 23 and 24.
Next national stage at the beginning of December in Nantes, for the last Excellence label tournament of the year 2024.
