A breath of fresh air in the form of a first success, that’s what the Rostrenois granted themselves against the red lantern, Cholet (Maine-et-Loire), on Saturday. It wasn’t easy on paper but the planets quickly aligned on the ground. With two very close first doubles and an identical scenario: a first set lost, then two winners at the end of the suspense. A defeat in the singles, then two new, most logical victories in the women’s singles, and the Costarmoricans held on to at least a draw (1-4).
Greater mental freshness
The first mixed match failed in the hands of Cholet, but feeling the scent of the feat, Rostrenen was going to give everything in the last two matches. Simultaneously, two intense, high-level matches would raise the mood in the Grégoire Hall. Visibly fresher mentally, the Rostrenois repeated the exploits of the start of the match. The Cholet heads did not follow and the Bretons won in the most beautiful way 21-19 in the last set.
A victory which leaves the Choletais far away, not even capable of saving the bonus (2-6). Coline Sibéril, the captain of the day on the Breton side, could savor: “It’s a historic victory for the club in the Top 12, with the style, the 6-2 victory is incredible. The four very tight matches turned around for us, usually it’s quite the opposite. The last two matches we were close to losing, we said to ourselves, we will shout until the end. Everyone really wanted it, and understood that it was really important. That’s what made the difference. We are happy. »
