Robbery on a train in Seveso, in the province of Monza and Brianza, a fifteen-year-old resident of the town was also arrested. The facts date back to Friday November 1st, All Saints’ Day, but the news was only disclosed yesterday. Based on what was reconstructed by the Carabinieri of the Seregno company, in charge of the investigations, the minor and two peers, one resident in Cesate and one in Longone al Segrino, approached an eighteen-year-old from Meda.
To “convince” him to give up the hat he was wearing, one of them showed him a kitchen knife with a 21 centimeter long blade. The robbery took place in the afternoon. The three boys were traveling on a train on the Trenord Camnago-Milan line, when along the way one of them approached the man from Rome and stole the baseball cap he was wearing.
The facts
The victim was not intimidated at all, in fact he immediately reacted. One of the three in response tried to intimidate him, showing the large knife he was hiding under his jacket. Fortunately, a witness, a passenger, instead of pretending nothing had happened, grabbed his smartphone and asked for the police to intervene. At the same time, the attackers quickly got off the convoy at the Seveso station, certain they would be able to cover their tracks. This was not the case. The victim, supported by the friends with whom he was travelling, chased them and managed to point them out to the police, who in the meantime had arrived at the scene with the company car flashing lights and sirens on.
At the end of the investigations, those responsible were all identified and taken to the Seregno Company Headquarters. The knife was recovered and seized.
The epilogue
Based on the elements collected and the responsibilities ascertained, two of the three were declared under arrest, the Mozzatese and the peer from Cesate, while the fifteen-year-old from Longone al Segrino was reported in a state of freedom.
The arrested were accompanied to the “Cesare Beccaria” first reception center in Milan, as ordered by the deputy prosecutor of the Milan Juvenile Public Prosecutor’s Office. Unfortunately, it is not the first time that a robbery has taken place on a scheduled train at the hands of very young people, especially smartphones, designer clothes and the latest fashion shoes. To identify the perpetrators, the collaboration of citizens and the victims themselves becomes essential. Calling the police while witnessing a crime, helping investigators in recognizing the perpetrators are precious elements for investigative activity.
