Triple IT Allahabad becomes overall champion

-Triple IT Kurnool got second place and Jabalpur got third place.

Prayagraj, 18 November (HS). Triple IT Allahabad became the overall champion in the first inter-IIIT staff sports competition organized at Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad (Triple IT). While IIIT Kurnool secured second position and IIIT Jabalpur secured third position.

PRO of the institute, Dr. Pankaj Mishra said that this three-day program proved to be an important milestone in promoting camaraderie and sportsmanship among the employees in various Indian Institutes of Information Technology. Eight IIIT institutes participated in this program. In which each institute formed teams to compete in various sporting events. Around 184 employees from premier IIITs Kanchipuram, Jabalpur, Kurnool, Gwalior, Nagpur, Ranchi, Kalyani and Allahabad participated in a total of 12 sports.

The competition showcased the athletic ability and teamwork of the participants.

In this first sports festival, the championship trophy was won by IIIT Allahabad, which stood first. Triple IT Allahabad won Athletics, Aquatic Championship, Cricket etc.

In badminton (men), Chandrashekhar of IIIT Kurnool won the first position by defeating Kishore IIIT Kanchipuram. Pragya Shukla of IIIT Gwalior won the women’s singles by defeating Anuvedita Singh of the same institute. In the chess competition, Dr. Korra Satya Babu, IIIT Kurnool got the first position, Dr. Yashpal Singh Katharia, IIIT Jabalpur got the second position and Dr. Neeraj K. Jaiswal IIIT Jabalpur secured the third position.

In the volleyball event, Kanchipuram stood first, Gwalior stood second and Kurnool stood third. In football, Jabalpur defeated Kanchipuram while Allahabad secured the third position. In table tennis singles men, Noel of Kurnool won the first prize. Aishwarya Nagpur and Abdullah Allahabad secured second and third position. T.T. In the singles women’s category, Payal from Ranchi stood first, Tanuja from Jabalpur stood second and Pragya Shukla from Gwalior stood third. Allahabad secured first position in tug of war. After that Kanchipuram and Gwalior got second place. Allahabad secured first position in carrom.

In the 100 meter men’s category, Rajesh from Kurnool got the first position while Arjunan from Kanchipuram and Parikshit from Jabalpur got the third position. In basketball, Kanchipuram stood first, Kurnool stood second and Allahabad stood third. In lawn tennis, Kurnool stood first, Kurnool stood second and Gwalior stood third. In cricket, Allahabad stood first, followed by Jabalpur and Kanchipuram respectively.

Faculty in-charge (Sports) of Triple IT, Dr. B. Shanti Bhushan said that the Inter IIIT Employees Sports Meet was successful in bringing together the employees of eight Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) of the country on one platform for friendly and enthusiastic competition in sports. Triple IT Allahabad emerged as the overall champion in the first Inter IIIT Employees Sports Meet displaying exceptional athletic skills and team spirit throughout the competition.
