Trump chooses Scott Turner as HUD Secretary
President-elect Donald Trump has chosen Scott Turner, a former NFL player and House Representative for Texas from 2013 to 2017, to be Secretary of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). “I am pleased to nominate Scott Turner, of the Great State of Texas, as Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).”Trump said. “Scott will work alongside me to make America great again for EVERY American. Congratulations to Scott, his wonderful wife, Robin, and his son, Solomon!“he added.
Turner is president of the Center for Education Opportunity at the America First Policy Institute, a Trump-aligned think tank. He served as executive director of the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Councilwhich aims to help struggling communities in America, during Trump’s first term. He is also the CEO and founder of the Community Engagement & Opportunity Council (ECSC), which focuses on helping communities in America through sports, mentorship and economic opportunity.
