Civil Guard post in Cartaya

The Civil Guard has arrested two people as alleged authors of several robberies with force perpetrated in country houses in the town of Cartaya (Huelva).

The so-called Operation Lutum 15 began as a result of various complaints of theft of country houses filed by their owners, which were located on the outskirts of the town of Cartaya. These robberies occurred from October 2 to 7, coinciding with the town’s festivities, and the homes were unoccupied, according to the Armed Institute.

The modus pperandi in all the robberies was the same, isolated areas near the Cartaya regional highway and the A-49 highway. To access the homes, they previously broke the wire fence to enter the plot and once inside, they forced the bars of some windows and accessed the interior of the house, stealing jewelry, money and tools among other objects.

After investigations carried out and with the collaboration of citizens, as well as a field guard, a description of the vehicle used in the robberies was obtained, whose owner could reside in Huelva capital. Therefore, collaboration was requested from National Police Corps of Huelva for the purpose of identification, the driver and another occupant having been intercepted days ago in that same vehicle.

Once the identity of the two perpetrators was found out and they had been identified by several witnesses, it was found that these people had sold jewelry from the reported robberies, leading to their arrest in the town of Huelva.

The arrested persons and the proceedings carried out have been made available to the Guardia Court of Huelva.

The operation has been carried out by the Cartaya Investigation Area, managing to clarify a total of seven robberies in country houses, recovering part of the jewelry and stolen cash.

The Civil Guard recommends that, if you observe suspicious people or vehicles in rural areas, you notify phone number 062, from where they will transfer a patrol to carry out the appropriate checks.
